Saskatchewan Experience – Agriculture Talent Pathway

This sub-category is for agricultural workers who:

• Have a job offer in Saskatchewan that is approved by the SINP.
• Meet the criteria of the sub-category.
• Intend to live in Saskatchewan as a permanent resident. Note: All nominees holding temporary work permits must be residing in Saskatchewan.

Check your Eligibility

You may qualify for this sub-category:

• If you live outside Canada or have proof of legal status in Canada (not a refugee claimant).
• Have a language score of at least Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 4. Some employers or regulators may require higher scores than CLB 4.
• Have completed secondary school (high school) or a higher level of education.

Have at least:

• One year of full-time work experience in the past three years in your intended occupation, or
• Six months (780 hours) of full-time (30+ hours per week) work experience in the job with the employer who provided the Job Approval Letter. The work experience does not need to be consecutive in either case.
• Attest to your intent to work and reside in Saskatchewan.
• Have a valid, eligible job offer for a permanent, full-time agricultural sector job in Saskatchewan. You will need a valid SINP Job Approval Letter to provide proof. Employers must register with the SINP and obtain the Job Approval Letter, which they will give to you if you meet their hiring qualifications.

The following agricultural and related occupations are eligible through this stream:

 Note: Occupations marked with an asterisk () require the sponsoring employer to be under NAICS 11 (Agriculture, forestry, fishing, and hunting). Keep in mind that the program criteria can change at any time, but the SINP will apply the criteria listed on the website when your application is received. Additionally, the federal government determines the number of nominations the SINP can make each year, and no application is guaranteed to be nominated.

Who Cannot Apply Through the Agriculture Talent Pathway:

The following individuals cannot apply:

• Refugee claimants in Canada who are seeking refugee status from the Government of Canada.

You may not be eligible if:

• You did not provide the required documents when submitting your application.
• You were unable to prove that you plan to live and work in Saskatchewan.
• You or your representative intentionally misrepresented information in the application.

Documents Required for Agriculture Talent Pathway with Saskatchewan Work Experience

1. Job Offer Requirements

All job positions must meet Canadian wage and working condition standards for the occupation.

The Letter of Offer must:

• Be addressed to the principal applicant.
• Clearly state the job title, duties, responsibilities, wage, benefits, and company contact details.
• Indicate the job location in Saskatchewan.
• Be printed on the employer’s official letterhead.
• Be signed by the employer.

Before applying, your job offer must be approved by the SINP:

• Your employer must register online to have the position assessed.
• Once approved, the employer will receive a Job Approval Letter, which includes your name, position, and NOC code.
• A copy of this Job Approval Letter must be submitted with your application.

Additionally, you must provide a letter of offer for a full-time, permanent position from a Saskatchewan employer in an in-demand occupation.

2. Language Credentials

To meet the language requirements, you must:

• Submit language test results from a designated testing agency.
• Demonstrate English or French proficiency at a minimum CLB level 4 or higher.
• Ensure your test results are less than two years old at the time of application.

3. Education/Training Credentials: For the Education/Training Credentials, you must submit the following documents:

• Secondary School (High School) Diploma or:
• Education or trade certificate
• Degree
• Post-secondary diploma
• Official Transcripts: These should show the schools attended and courses taken.
• Professional Designation (if applicable): If you have a professional designation related to your intended occupation, include the relevant documentation.

4.Work Experience Requirements: For the Work Experience Credentials, you must submit the following:

• At least one year of full-time work experience in the past three years in your intended occupation OR
• Six months (780 hours) of full-time work experience (30+ hours/week) with the employer who has provided the Job Approval Letter.
  • The experience does not need to be consecutive.
  • Remote work is not eligible as in-Saskatchewan work experience.

Documents Checklist for Agriculture Talent Pathway:

• Letters of Reference from Past Employers: The letter must be on company letterhead and should include: (your job position and dates of employment, main duties, weekly hours worked if the position was not full-time, and supervisor or manager’s contact details).

• Government-Issued Proof of Employment: Acceptable documents include: (pension fund, provident fund, medical insurance, or social security records; work permits, work visas, or labor cards for foreign work experience; employment contracts for government jobs; taxation forms or income tax return acknowledgment (ITR) issued by the government).
• Self-Employment (if applicable): Only claim self-employment for managerial NOCs or certified occupations. Documents required include: (business license and self-employment tax documents; proof of income; letters of reference from clients). For business ownership, provide: (articles of incorporation or proof of ownership; evidence of self-employment income; third-party documentation indicating services provided and payment details). Self-declared duties or affidavits are not accepted.

5. Temporary Work Permit (if applicable): Accepted work permits include open work permits, closed work permits, and Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel (CUAET) visas.

If you have an open work permit and your spouse was the principal applicant in the work permit application, the SINP may request additional documentation to verify that you and your spouse reside in Saskatchewan.

6. Proof of Residency (if applicable): Proof of residency in Saskatchewan can include a Saskatchewan Health Card, Saskatchewan driver’s license, or other ID issued by SGI.

Note: The SINP may request additional documents if needed.

Important: Applicants outside of Saskatchewan whose work experience was conducted remotely cannot claim this work experience.

7. Credentials (if applicable): If your occupation is regulated in Saskatchewan, provide proof from the regulatory body confirming that your credentials are recognized and you are licensed to work, or a letter confirming that an application for registration has been submitted.
8. Identity and Civil Status Documents:

To confirm your identity and civil status, you need to submit the following documents:

• Birth Certificates for: Principal applicant, spouse/partner (if applicable), each accompanying dependent, and non-accompanying children born in Canada (if applicable).
• If married, Marriage Certificate and Death Certificate of former spouse (if applicable).
• For Common-Law Relationship: IMM 5409 Declaration of Common-Law Union and Proof of at least one year of cohabitation (e.g., joint bank account, signed lease/mortgage, jointly owned property, joint bills, life insurance beneficiary).
• For Divorce: Final divorce documents and Custody and child support documents (if dependents are not accompanying).
• For Legal Separation: Marriage certificate, Notarized proof of separation (country-specific), Custody and child support documents (if dependents are not accompanying).
• Adoption papers (if applicable).

9. Passports: Provide a valid passport with copies of the following pages for the principal applicant, spouse/partner (if applicable), and all accompanying dependent children: passport number, date of issue and expiry, photo, name and place of birth, and if applicable, a visa for a country where you reside but do not hold nationality.
