          Stream for Workers

The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) has 4 options for foreign workers who are either already living and working in Alberta or want to come here to live and work.

1.1 Tourism and Hospitality Stream – This is for people already living and working in Alberta with a full-time job offer in the tourism and hospitality industry. If you have a job in this field, you can apply to stay in Alberta.

1.2 Alberta Opportunity Stream – If you live and work in Alberta and have a job offer from an Alberta employer, you can apply to get nominated for permanent residency in Alberta.

1.3 Alberta Express Entry Stream – If you have a profile in the federal Express Entry pool, you may get an invitation to apply for permanent residency in Alberta. This is for candidates who meet certain requirements, including the skills and experience Alberta needs. There are also special pathways for healthcare professionals, tech workers, and police officers.

1.4 Dedicated Health Care Pathway – If you have a job offer in a healthcare profession that qualifies, you can apply to be nominated for permanent residency in Alberta.

1.5 Rural Renewal Stream – This option is for people who want to live and work in smaller communities outside major cities. These communities can apply to attract newcomers to fill job shortages and help people settle there.

Stream for Entrepreneur

The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) offers 4 options for entrepreneurs who want to live in Alberta and start or buy a business:

                      2.1 Rural Entrepreneur Stream – If you want to start or buy a business in a small town or rural area in Alberta, you can submit an Expression of Interest to                            apply.

                 2.2 Graduate Entrepreneur Stream – If you graduated from an approved Alberta post-secondary institution and want to start or buy a business in Alberta,                          you can submit an Expression of Interest.

                     2.3 Farm Stream – If you have farming experience and want to buy or start a farm in Alberta, you can apply for nomination to move to Alberta

                 2.4 Foreign Graduate Entrepreneur Stream – If you graduated from a university or college outside of Canada and want to start an innovative business or a                        start-up in Alberta, you can work with a designated agency to submit an Expression of Interest.
