To be eligible to submit an application and receive a nomination, you must fulfill the following 3 requirements:

• – Pathways Requirements
• – Selection Draw Requirements

Minimum Assessment Requirements

The following minimum requirements apply to all Alberta Express Entry Stream applicants at the time of application and assessment:

• – You must have an active Express Entry profile in the federal Express Entry pool.
• – You must meet the criteria of at least one of the following federal immigration programs managed by Express Entry:

• – Canadian Experience Class
• – Federal Skilled Trades Program
• – Federal Skilled Worker Program.

• If invited based on an Alberta job offer, both you and your Alberta employer must meet all the Alberta Job Offer and Employment Requirements.

• You must intend to and be able to live and work permanently in Alberta and have expressed an interest in immigrating to Alberta permanently.

Pathways Requirement

1. Family Connection and Primary Occupation in Demand

• • Family Connection:
  • – At the time of application, you must have an eligible Alberta relative (parent, child, or sibling).
    • Important: In-laws are not eligible, and the connection must be verifiable through supporting documents.
    • The relative must:
      • – Live in Alberta.
      • – Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
      • – Be at least 18 years old.
    • AAIP may request documents to verify the residency and relationship.
  • Primary Occupation in Demand:
    • Occupation must be in high demand according to Alberta’s Occupational Outlook or Short-Term Employment Forecast.
    • In-demand occupations in agriculture, construction, or healthcare may also be prioritized.

2. Dedicated Health Care Pathway

1. • Review the Dedicated Health Care Pathway page for eligibility requirements before applying.

3. Accelerated Tech Pathway

1. • At the time of application:
     • You must be working full-time in Alberta with a valid job offer or an existing employment contract:
       • The job must meet the Alberta job offer requirements.
       • It must be in an eligible tech occupation for an Alberta employer in the tech industry.
     • You must have valid immigration status (work permit or implied status) in Alberta at the time of application.
     • Your primary occupation in your Express Entry profile must match your current Alberta employment or job offer.

4. Law Enforcement Pathway

1. • Requirements:
     • Your primary occupation in the Express Entry profile must match your current Alberta employment or job offer.
     • You must be identified by the Alberta Association of Chiefs of Police (AACP) as an internationally recruited police officer.
     • Must have a valid job offer from an Alberta employer in Alberta police services in one of the following eligible NOC codes:
       • 40040 – Commissioned police officers and related occupations.
       • 41310 – Police investigators and other investigative occupations.
       • 42100 – Police officers (except commissioned).

5. Priority Sector Pathway

1. • At the time of application:
     • Your primary occupation in your Express Entry profile must be an eligible agriculture or construction occupation.
     • If invited based on an Alberta job offer, the job offer must be for an eligible agriculture or construction occupation.

Selection Draw Requirements

• The AAIPmay apply additional selection factors when conducting selection draws for the Alberta Express Entry Stream.
• At the time of your application and assessment, you must meet all additional selection factorsfor the specific draw under which you were invited to apply.
• To confirm the selection parameters, review the information on selection draws published by the AAIP.
• If your Express Entry profileexpires in 5 months or less, you may be less likely to be invited to apply. It is recommended to keep your profile updated to remain eligible for future draws under the Alberta Express Entry Stream.
