restore temporary status in canada

Great news for Temporary Residents

Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has renewed their temporary public policy and offered more time to temporary residents to restore their status in Canada.

As per the new policy, workers, students, and visitors will be able to restore their status until August 31, 2021, whose temporary status expired or will expire between January 30, 2020, and May 31, 2021. Also, temporary residents must be in Canada to be qualified under this policy.

Moreover, former work permit holders with a valid job offer can continue to work while waiting for the work permit restoration application decision. Normally, applicants cannot work during the restoration process of their status. To be eligible under this policy, workers must have a valid work permit within the last 12 months from the restoration application submission date. Moreover, they can only work with an employer whose name is specified in the LMIA.
